i submitted my JAE today. followed the template i posted yesterday. except that i didn't put the IT course.
omg will i really get into njc? or will i end up in acjc?
apparently both schools are a bit opposite.
njc got lousy uniform but good environment. acjc got good uniform but lousy environment.
ok enough about that.
tmr i';m going to mat house to play starcraft. meeting heng and dominic there. i hope i can thrash heng lol. they may be playing mahjong also. i forgot how to play le. lol. surely get thrashed.
then i'll leave at around 4 and go to the 4G chalet. same place as lps de. just diff block nia. i thought will have a new experience. sian. at least i (think i) know how to get there. if i miss then at least i know how to go from the terminal.
ok i go put my ulcer cream le bye

Thinking of you MAPLE on Thursday, January 15, 2009
today i went to njc and ajc.
njc is impressive, but the side gate was closed so i had to fucking walk all the way to the main gate which was fucking far behind. i think more than 1km walk from the side gate because i had to take one long circular slip road in. but anyway the building looked nice and very clean. and there were sec1 and sec3 (they call it JH1 and JH3; JH is junior high) orientations going on. a lot of groups running about. i dun like the PE attire. red pants. like lai ang like that. lol. the shirt still ok. and the uniform is a dull grey. and it looks like jjc one. wtf.
so i walked around the school. free & easy tour. their rock wall, compared to mshs, is small. and there are a lot of tutorial rooms. i walked past a few with lessons going on. not much different from mshs classes, i think. didn't manage to see the lecture halls. and i saw the canteen. the school so big, if i had lessons on the other side of the campus i think i wun be able to eat during breaks. but there are a lot of study places, not like mshs, only got one study area and one row of picnic tables which do not get any wind at all.
and the field layout reminds me of a stadium. lol. the grandstand is really grand. and it's facing bukit timah road. and the side gate is there. it's a long walk from the busstop to the office. and there's this place where there are many staircases, which reminds me of hogwarts. and the corridors remind me of lianhua. didn't manage to talk to any students or teachers, partly because i'm too timid, and also because they look like they're rushing around.
btw i walked past many teachers but none of them stopped me and asked me why i was there but not in school uniform. is that a good or a bad thing?
anyway after that i went to ajc. took 171 to newton and took a train to amk where it terminated and i had to wait for the next train to take just one stop. basket waste time.
and from yck mrt i couldn't find the way. lucky jenna told me to look for the covered walkway which is not the interchange side. a bit general, but in the end i found it. i think it was the place that i did the Elementz comp for my life sci. and got the bronze trophy that could break.
and the guard at the gate stopped me and scolded me for just walking in. i'll elaborate more on that later.
and so i walked into ajc and immediately recognised the place. and it isn't as impressive as njc, i'll have to say. jenna say it's very peaceful but every now and then i hear the mrt going by, and that's because the other times the noise in the jc smothers the train's. but then again, it was about 2-3 then so it could have been break time. but the campus is small. so the noise can be heard everywhere. anyway their tutorial rooms are located right above the sports hall. and the LT is not very big (but at least air con, lol). i know because i've been in there before.
but the one thing i noticed about ajc is that they dedicate two whole computer labs for JAE. and they even have a signboard informing the JAE participants about it. i saw nothing like that in njc. maybe cuz it's too big? or they do it in the office? nvm, tmr i'll see. more on that later.
and about the security guard thing:
in the 4 years at mshs i could just walk in and out of the school in home clothes and no one would stop me. the side gate is permanently open and even the main gate with 2 guards doesn't stop my "unauthorised" entry. so it came as a surprise to me when i was stopped by firstly the njc main gate guard, the side gate guard, and subsequently the ajc's one. i never knew security guards were that effective. mshs is screwed up. proper guards also cannot hire. wtf. even lianhua guard also better la. although he left the post and i had to manually sign out.
and i'm going to acs with sam in the morning. he's like promoting the IB. but no harm going to see. if i like it, it could be my second choice. or even my first. but i'm choosing tmr. so it's like an on-the-spot thing which is stupid because i never really looked at IB with any seriousness before. so i really gotta find out more. hopefully got course counselling.
and after that, if i dun like acs, i'll be heading to njc to ask them for course counselling and then jae registration. but if they dun let me register there then how? surely all jc open for this right? the sp principal say de. but if they really want ppl to join then surely they'll have that service. ah wtf. they didn't even have open house recently. it was last october.
i dun think i'll change my first choice unless something happens. here are the choices currently:
1. NJC
2. ACJC
3. AJC
4. PJC
5. NP (dip in Biotech)
6. NP (dip in IT)
might insert ACS somewhere if i get attracted. ok now i go pack my bag and fill up the worksheet
